Per Frequent Flyer - Using Points - Flight Upgrades - About Flight Upgrades ,"G" class international is discount economy... but Qantas is not smart enough to mention "G" class domestic. BUt, I'm going to take https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/do/dyns/upgradeCalculator as evidence that "G" class domestic is unfortunately discount economy as well :(. Unless anyone knows any different?

Also, as the smart kids have worked out, I have a group booking...

When I go to https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/do/dyns/auth/Upgrades/Request and click 'upgrade' The Upgrade a family member box populates with the PNR and the Name of my company as the Surname "Firm Name Group Booking"...

When I go to View/Change, I get a 404 error... But, when I put in the PNR and *MY* surname, I can get to the Manage my booking page. Is this normal behaviour?

It's a 6:00am flight, so if I could upgrade for 5,000 points I would instantly jump on it - even though its Adl-Melbourne.

Also, what happens when I click the 'Upgrade' button on https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/do/dyns/auth/Upgrades/Request ? I'm a touch scared that this would do something bad like try to upgrade everyone on the same PNR, or instantly upgrade my booking both ways (instead of one way), or something stupid like that (knowing how bad the QF booking system is).

Cheers,

'Flight Upgrade Awards' can only be redeemed for everyone on the PNR, so with a huge group booking, you won't be able to request an upgrade for just yourself unless you have QF split you from the main booking. If you're a Qantas Club member, or a Gold/Platinum/Platinum One Frequent Flyer or a Chairmans Lounge member, you can try for an 'On Departure Upgrade' in the Qantas Club in ADL on the day of departure (I'm not sure if they also have to be for all guests on the PNR, but I would assume that they could upgrade one person as it's being processed by a person and not by the website). Happy to be corrected though! :)

Damn, that seems like a stupid way to do it.
