Hi all,

This is not specifically a FF question but I figure people will know. I have booked (paid) for economy seats to JNB. However, I want to upgrade to business and happy to pay whatever it costs without using the FF system If need be.

My question is: is there a more elegant way of doing that without simply cancelling the tickets I have and starting again?

How did you book the flights - on QF website, through travel agent, etc?

I’ve always done it at check in, and have got some great deals. However this method relies on seats being available at check in. I upgraded from J to F on Etihad from MEL to LHR for $800.

Ring Qantas and tell them you want to price changing your ticket to business class. They will give you a price and you can decide if it is worth it.

You may be required to upgrade both ways.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Call and ask to pay to move up to business. It’ll be fare difference plus change fee. You can check the price online to see what difference you’d be up for. Did this the other week without any hassles.
