Upgrading a friend

Hi all HNY

I am traveling back from US and a friend is accompanying me . They are on a one world RTW ticket in Economy and I have a return ticket in PE . How do I get them upgraded and on my booking so we have a chance of sitting together .

iam a QFF plat they are a QFF nothing (nil points )

appreciate any advice

You can't get them on your booking.

L class is upgradeable so they would need to put in a points request for the joint segments. You could do it with your points if they are a "Family Member".

If the Upgrade is successful, the chances of you two sitting together without being proactive are remote.

There are several threads on AFF about upgrading a "Family Member", and what could happen to your QFF account if the pax are not related.
It might be useful to search for these posts if in doubt.

In the past I've had QF 'link bookings' when I've been travelling with a friend and we want to sit together. But I've not tried that in the context of trying to get a friend upgraded.
