Which FF programme did you use in your booking, MH Gold (OW Sapphire) or your QFF Gold?

They will call you the day before the flight to talk about any needs, wishes and wants. Probably also to give you your assigned seat & discuss other options, if available (see other threads for pros and cons of which column and Rows 1 or 5 vs 2-3-4 etc). Myself I like the 'A' column (fewer other pax using the aisle) and rows 2, 3 or 4 to get away from galley or toilets, but there is no bad seat, really.

If you are arriving SYD check-in by car, First Host should advise a mobile number you call on approach, so they can be kerbside to assist with luggage.

Not aware of any particular arrival services, but I'm pretty sure they are about to assist, if you request same.
I've already been allocated 4K, so happy with that. I don't really need much assistance. I'm not checking in any luggage, so don't really need any help with that. I suppose I don't have much need for the First Host. ;)

Remember it's an afternoon departure and service starts about an hour after takeoff, so you'll be having a massive meal way before your body clock is ready for dinner.

Isn't one of the points of flying F so that you get to say when you want to eat rather than get told by the crew what time they're serving food?

Oooh! Just received a call from the First Host asking me if I needed any assistance for my arrival at the airport and telling me about what services were available. She sounded lovely on the phone. Booked myself in for a massage. :D

I was under the impression that points upgrades on QF flights can only be done with QFF points?

Congrats to the OP, looking forward to a trip report and pics of the degustation!

I'll do my best to take pics. Although, it may get a bit wonky after I've had too much champagne...

At what point did upgrade come through? I'm hoping for an upgrade on Wednesday, but if that does not materialise, I will try to change from QF11 to QF7 or QF107, so to get to NY a few hour earlier

Congrats.

Get to the Flounge ASAP and enjoy.

I'm not a drinker so alcohol isn't a problem; food is my weakness :)

Enjoy

I've had first host greet me in arrival when I've had connections and taken me there in a buggy. If you don't have any connections I'm not sure what they would do on arrival.

F on the A380 is awesome. If it was me again

Id get a treatment in the spa if you can, its great having a back rub before a flight.
Nice eggs Benedict and coffee in the lounge, maybe a sneaky champagne before the flight.
Enjoy the awesome champagne on board and also the excellent service.

Enjoy !!

Just found out that my upgrade to First was just confirmed! And at T-40 as well. :D Any tips for making the most of my upcoming experience would be greatly appreciated.

In May 2012 my wife and I flew QF2 A380 LHR to SYD. Used FFPts. Fabulous - an experience of a lifetime. You will enjoy.

My wife and I have an upgrade request in for August really hoping it comes through!

Hope your upgrade comes through. We haven't had much success with upgrades on QF. However, we purchased 2 F class one way tickets LHR/SYD using QF FFPts. The flight was fantastic and so were the crew. The only way to fly. Sadly, can't afford to do again.

Had my first QF A380 F experience the week before last DXB-LHR via a points UG.

It was a great use of 15k points.

Only problem was it being a short night flight so didn't really get the opportunity to fully appreciate it.

Being able to lie down comfortably to sleep was great. I find the sky beds too much like a coffin to sleep comfortably. Then again, it is still so much better than Y...
