Hi All,

I've just booked an International Y multi-carrier ticket with QF on the last sector.

I was looking to burn some points by submitting an upgrade request for the QF sector (and it being accepted, obviously!) ... but when I try to request the upgrade via QF MMB I get the message:

[h=1]Classic Upgrade Rewards - not available[/h] An upgrade is not available on this itinerary due to one or more of the following reasons.

  • not operated by Qantas
  • restricted or heavily discounted airfare (for example, Red e-Deal flight) or a Classic Flight Reward purchased with Frequent Flyer points
  • does not have an upgradeable class
  • a discounted Business Class airfare
  • a prize ticket or a promotional offer
  • part of a group booking. Contact a Qantas Office for an upgrade
  • a voucher for future travel
  • already flown
  • not a flight sector
For further details, see the terms and conditions.

Really? None of the above apply to the sector I want to upgrade...and we know that upgrades are per sector on multi-sector journeys.

Is there any way to request the upgrade .. do I have to call??

Regards,

BD

Have you checked that the booking has actually been ticketed yet, or the fare bucket of the QF leg?

What is the final sector, and whay booking class is it?

Not all internationall tickets are upgradeable.

Thanks All,

Turns out it was the booking class (took some digging to find since this was booked via Corporate TA) - outbound is S but unfortunately he inbound, including this QF Segment, is O.

BD
