Up to 150,000 Qantas Points when you sign up with Pepperstone

This equals to 2,500 trades, right?

So upon joining you need to deposit $10,000 to earn 100,000 points? Presumably there is no fee/limited fee for pushing this back into your account? Does everyone remember when you could deposit into IG with a credit card through Paypal and not pay a cash advance fee – I wonder if their systems will be as inept? Their FAQ suggests they accept Paypal... paging @Dr Ralph
I believe you need to deposit $10 k and have 5 trades to receive the 100 k points

Did you or anyone else actually try this ?

Not yet. Will try it this week. Someone in another forum suggest doing lots of small trades over a month, rather than only 4 trades/5 lots (to qualify for the 100k points) ... This should reduce the risk of Pepperstone wriggling out of it with the good faith clause.

Unless Pepperstone is a member of FOS I will give this a pass, I would expect a major fight for the QF points payout unless you do lots of trading with them.

They accept Paypal but it only pulls from bank accounts (similar to the "corrected" IG accounts). Went down that road when IG dried up....

Are you speaking from personal experience with them or just speculating? People on other forums received points from earlier promos ... but that wasn't 100k points.

I am speculating, I have never dealt with Pepperstone before.

I use Bell FX as best pricing comes first. There is no room for points if the trade is on tight margins.

Ok, posting an update as it may be useful for anyone who would consider a promo like this in the future.

I approached it with two big point hauls in mind:

1) maximising the initial deposit bonus, i.e. depositing $10 000 to receive 100 000 Qantas points
2) acheiving a minimum spend ($3000) on a credit card to receive 75 000 points

Step 1 has been acheived with a very marginal sub-$100 profit (more on this below...) with a deposit made at the start of august, minimum lots traded (5 x full lots) by mid-August and bonus points received at around the start of October.

Step 2 was acheived at an opportunity cost of about $350, which was the card fee plus purchase interest for the $10 000 deposit amount in my trading account (60 days for most of the funds).

So this was certainly one of those 'opportunities' that stretched my comfort levels with the hobby... because for me forex trading felt like pure gambling with all the highs and lows that go with it. I've never been a gambler but this experience sure showed me my inner gambler.

Without going into all the gory details, I first acheived the minimum trade requirements quite early with even a decent small profit of a few hundred dollars, only to continue to attempt to bite from that cherry... Then over the past couple of months at various points I hit realised losses of $1000+ and paper losses beyond of almost $2000 at one point...

Well I gradually gained some skill/luck and took some pretty big risks to trade my way back to break even and now I'm out.

Given the amount of trades I made to reach this point I'm sure pepperstone have come out ahead in terms of the bonus points. I on the other hand got my huge swag of points and just scraped through with my sanity and bank account balance restored.

Has anyone recieved the lated trading points for Dec yet? (Trades in november).

I'm hopefilly waiting for my 100k bonus points. Deposit $10k (1st deposit) & 5x fill trades.

I was told that 1st "full trade" must be done in the 1st month, then next 4 can be completed anytime.

I can't remember the exact date of 5th completed trade, as per the wait 30 days rule.

Bump. I spoke with them early in the week, which I was told that members should receive points today (Fri Dec 14th).

Not at all pleased, I have received just 10k in points for opening my account, doing 5 full trades, and waiting the required length of time.

I have emailed a query yesterday (no reply yet), then made phone contact before 6pm tonight (person is on another call, will ring you back).

Not holding my breath for a quick reply or answer!

Will paste different rules below which I have highlighted.
