Pretty reasonable. US0.5c per point. Almost entices me.

Am I delusional, or is that the best offer they've ever had?

delusional is a pretty strong word - misinformed is probably better

Hi, looking for advice on the benefits of this deal. On face value I wonder why you would buy the points, even at 100% bonus. Doing a quick browse around it seems you are better off just paying the room rates? Happy for someone to give me other reasons. Is the 5th night free thing only for points? Thanks in advance.

Entirely depends on where and when you want to stay.
For example, Doubletree Kuala Lumpur redemptions can be as low as 10,000 points per night (as per my stay on 16 January 2016).
At that rate 4 nights there would cost you 40,000 points which you can buy for $200.
So that's $50 per night. Then with the possibility of a fifth night free it comes down to 5 nights for $40 each.
Hilton Honours discount rate at this property is 342 MYR or $128.75 AUD per night.
So buying points for the points redemption would potentially be less than a third of the cash rate!

However I just noticed redemptions there are currently around 20,000-22,000 points so that isn't quite as good value.
That works out more like $80-$88 per night but still saving $40-$50 per night.
I know 10,000 point nights were available at some other properties, not sure if they have also increased.
