Can anyone who sat in one of the Jetstar up front or extra legroom seats with the fold out table comment on the Width of the seat? Are the seats more narrow?

I have seen pictures and the armrest looks the same width just that it extends all the way down.

I ask because I a have a broad build and am a little overweight ( but not huge ) and am concerned they may be tight. I have sat in standard Jetstar economy many times and never had an issue with width. I am a little claustrophobic and so no seat in from of my face sounds appealing.

I would appreciate is you respond to mention your rough build/size so I can put some perspective on your response.

Thanks!!

Sometimes I feel a little constrained in VA Row 3 so I am assuming it would be the same for QF's Row 4 the arm rests go all the way down as they need to hold a tray table in them but in the end the extra legroom is worth the sacrifice of roughly 1 cm of width

EDIT: didn't realise this is JQ, can't speak for them

Are you flying on an A320 or Boeing 787?

I think these seats are perhaps *slightly* more narrow due to the tray table being in the armrest - but I haven't really noticed, to be honest.

If you're on a 787, all of the seats will be pretty narrow anyway. But from memory there is at least one pair of exit row seats in the centre section with a fold-up armrest (rather than a tray table) between them.

Paparooni if you are taking one of the exit row seats in row 23 be prepared for one of the most uncomfortable flights you will ever experience - that is just the seat comfort. Don't get me started on the cabin service (or lack of).

I am also on the large side but have no problems with Jetstar domestic, QANTAS, Virgin Australia. Tiger and even survived Ryanair (exit row). But not Jetstar in row 23 seat C. Seat Guru claims the economy seats are 17" with row 23 "the tray table is in the arm rest, making the armrest immovable and slightly reducing seat width." My experience is that it is more than slightly.

Don't waste your money upgrading to business (which I have posted previously that Jetstar should be taken to task for misleading and deceptive conduct for calling it business class). My experience is that the seat is wider on the domestic 320 than the business class seat on the 787 though Seat Guru does not agree with me.

Don't do it to yourself.

Thanks Matt, a bit hard to know what to do now, Mattg says *Slightly* and you say more than slightly. I think I'll take your advice and give it a miss unless someone else chimes in.

I was thinking more of one of the upfront seats row 10 rather than extra legroom because it's more about not feeling closed in with the seat in front especially when reclined. But seeing as the seats themselves are the same style i figured the width would be the same.

When I am on the plane I will sit in one and check it out so I know for future.
