One more question, once I reach the US I am then flying domestically with United to another destination. The benefits of Premier Gold list "Lounge access when travelling internationally", might be a stupid question, but will I be granted access to the domestic lounges?

You need to buy domestic UA lounge access. As an UA elite you do get a small discount. Can also buy individual lounge access, which if you don't do a lot of UA travel, may cost you less per year.

Well, when I flew UA more extensively (I have over 2.5 MM BIS), as a gold flyer you would be admitted to a United Lounge (Red Carpet Club) domestically in the USA if your international ticket had the domestic flights on it.

You need to pay for lounge access once on the domestic portion even if you have UA Gold.

Not if you have a same day International flight on your itinerary, you can see that from United's Premier Benefits page:

United Airlines - Frequent Flyer Benefits | MileagePlus Premier Benefits

Also referring to your above posts it's not very common that Qantas will status match at all and there is no link to apply as a result unfortunately.

Just flew SFO-HKG and was able to use the lounge in the international terminal. But when flying HKG-SFO-LAX, was denied entry in SFO because they said I am now on the domestic portion of my ticket. Argued about it but they pulled up a rule a showed it to me.

Next time, I'll bring your link...thanks

If you are outbound then you get domestic lounge access. Ie sfo to hkg.
However if inbound from int to another domestic destination hkg/sfo/lax then no domestic lounge access without club membership. You should get access in hkg.

I flew MEL-SYD-LAX-EWR (overnight stopover) DEN-HNL and had lounge access the whole way.

Being 1K probably helped but I was under the impression that at least same day intl access should be given unless UA treat their golds less than they do a *G member of a different program

Just finished a 14 sector UA journey that started Syd/Lax/Las. Was told at Lax no lounge access as I was now on a domestic sector Lax to Las. So I bought lounge access.
Also flew into and out of Canada. No problems there as I was *A Gold even though some sectors were Canadian domestic.
Seems UA have different rules for *A Gold members travelling on US domestic sectors.
Must say that overall the UA experience was good and the 35" seat pitch Golds get with automatic/no cost Y+ upgrades was good for 2 tall travellers. Most domestic sectors we got automatic upgrades to J/F.
