A United Airlines flight landing at Newark Airport hit a bakery truck on the nearby turnpike with its wheels. It landed safely and somehow the truck driver was only slightly injured. I imagine that he was slightly surprised by the accident. Initial reports said that the aircraft had hit a street light.

Reports crew unaware of the incident until afterwards.
So hit and run? 🤔

But I guess we’ll know in due course if it was “Pilot error” or “Equipment failure”. Of course the later can lead to the former…

Heard the driver got away with just minor injuries. Close call but he'll have a story. Not sure how many people can say they got hit by a widebody jetliner...

The less the better!

I think there was a second driver that had their car damage by the pole the United flight also hit..

I guess its also a close call with no tyres being punctured or damage to the landing gear at all.

I would not be qualifying the statement with “widebody” or even jetliner. Not many trucks get hit with no fatalities by any in-flight plane.
