I noticed in this month's QFF newsletter that QF has posted two new how-to videos on their website around how to properly book Classic Flight awards.

The first one covers the mechanics of using the award search tool and how to use the "Awards Only" filter to show classic awards:

The second video shows folks how to use the where can I go to classic award flight map

To say I'm frustrated is an understatement. How on earth am I gonna make use of classic awards if every kettle and FoTSG now knows how to find classic awards instead of doing the proper thing and booking a points + pay award booking?!

But you are asumming people read the QFF newsletter.
It's in the newsletter now but it's been posted to Qantas' Youtube channel. It's only a matter of time before every Tom, Dick and Harry learns how to book award seats properly. Whilst I can't speak for others on this forum, I've counted on obtuse award booking policies (including married segment logic) to find saver award availability others can't. If they make award booking accessible to everyone, who knows what will happen. Ordinary people could very well end up spending 18,400 points to book a classic J award to MEL or BNE. And if they figure out they can book partner J awards for less than a million points, you can say good bye to your weekend trip to SIN or HNL!

But now you've re-posted the videos here! So that any non "match fit" AFF can do the same 😂:oops:.

But I don't think Award Flight Assist will lose too much business. Its not the "how to" that's the problem, its the basic inventory, even with the vast majority in the dark.

Are there any non "match fit" AFF members on this forum? Perhaps we need to do the luggage test? I still can't believe someone like Alan Joyce calls travellers who forget to remove laptops and tablets from their bags rusty travellers, when it's really the airports that are rusty. To this day I don't understand why you need to take aerosols or laptops out of your bag in SYD when we've had security technology since at least 2003 that didn't require this. And I say this as someone who routinely removed nothing from their bags clearing airport security in North America.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
