I purchased some wine without much thought on grays online and then afterwards tried to find their online presence and can’t find any trace of the winery. As a new wine drinker I’m curious if this is normal?

The grays auction listing has the wine listed as receiving a gold medal and a wine critic score of 91, so I’m surprised I can’t find any trace of the wine online.

The wine is Fossil Tree Cabernet 2020 from Limestone Coast SA.

A lot of wines on grays are export wines, they don’t even hit the local market and send off to over countries, there are some with different labels and names as well, did they mention which wine critic gave that score?

No mention of critic. Just 93 points wine critic.

Link to listing.

The wine critic might be Sam Kim of Wine Orbit, Fossil Tree is listed as a brand on his site. Cant see search results as it’s only accessible to subscribers.
Good find, but pitty it’ subscriber only.
Also good to know that some of Grays wines are export wines. I got a voyager estate wine from grays a month back and noticed the label on the back mentioned ‘imported to USA by ……”

Fossil Tree Cabernet 2020 is not on the Sam Kim site, only one there under Fossil Tree is a Sauv. Blanc.

$1.50 a bottle for the Fossil Tree would be fair value.
