UL has another sale for travel in October/November. I just priced SIN-CMB-CDG return in J for SGD2,350 (AUD2,310). Sample dates November 5-18, flights CMB-CDG on the new A333 with fully flat bed.

If not - Vietnam Airlines is still offering SIN-Europe from SGD2256 return (based on Paris, slightly more for London with luxe departure tax). Sent some friends on it last week and they said it was fine. Just 90 minutes SIN-SGN, then the long haul on 787 to london, full flat. The Vietnam Airlines fare also allows travel on Air France between Viet Nam and Paris (but could be angled beds unless AF decides to upgrade that route).

Can you buy codeshare on AF metal both ways? Or is VN product better now?

I think there are combinations with AF metal both ways. But I think in one direction the AF flight means a long layover.

From what I understand AF won't be reconfiguring all their 777s to the new full flat standard - leaving some aircraft with angled beds. These are scheduled on the Viet nam routes.

Food, beverage and amenity kit wise you'd have to think AF had the edge. Service - quite different between the carriers but probably both equal in their different ways. Bed - VN the clear winner with full flats on both the 787 and A350 (a350 our of PAR).
