This forum has always been good to me, so here goes.

I currently only have 260k points.

My wife and I would like to visit my daughter next August in London and stay for 3 weeks to coincide with our 20th Anniversary. I don't need to depart from London.
I can book 2 classic rewards economy tickets for BNE - SIN - LHR for 110k + $390 on 15 Aug which seems like good value. Points options back are limited right now.
Happy to stopover in Hong Kong as we have family there.

Am I going to be able to get a decent return flight using points at the end of the first week in Sept?

Happy for any advice you good folk may have

Don’t depart from the UK as the taxes will be horrible.

Qld school holidays start 19 September so I suspect you should be ok.

Finnair is an option and cathay.

I'd be looking at a rtn flight with Singapore for $1264 each and then treat your daughter to a business class flight back to Oz the following Christmas. Of course you'll need a few extra points come Thursday, but there are lots of ways to get them nowadays

If you want to use points, I would book the outbound flight now using points (while there is availability), then wait for more seats to be released for your return dates. You should be able to find something suitable at that time of year - right now it's just too far in the future to book on most airlines.
