I've heard that tour is amazing, my sister loved it.

Bit random but in Edinburgh the cafe on the top floor of Harvey Nichols is great, floor to ceiling glass windows with views over the city. I think it's called Firth on Fourth? Good coffee, cake. we had brunch up there, smoked salmon scrambled eggs were good (if you aren't sick of smoked salmon yet 😀)
The cafe is called Forth Floor Brassiere and Bar. We had cake and coffee but I intend going back for the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. While we were there someone ordered this and it looked delicious. They also do coughtails!

I used to live in Scotland and especially enjoying seeing your great photos Scash.

Now, have you had any Millionaires shortbread? and potato scones with your fry up? I need to know 🤣
@StayGoldPonyboy I found this at a cafe at a Real Mary King’s Close tour place. Obviously not freshly made so I will look for a bakery that makes them.

The next chapter in our trip begins on Sunday morning with an early 6:00 am flight to Dubrovnik! We were supposed to be doing a 5 night Croatia coastal cruise but our booking got cancelled just the other week as they were overbooked! We will now have 3 nights in Dubrovnik, 1 night in both Korcula and Hvar, 2 nights in Split and 1 night in Zagreb. From there we go to:

. Vienna - 3 nights
. Budapest - 3 nights
. Salzburg - 3 nights
. Munich - 2 nights
. Prague - 3 nights
. Berlin - 5 nights
. Brussells - 2 nights
. Bruges - 2 nights
. Amsterdam - 2 nights

and then back to Edinburg for a couple weeks before heading to France for some Rugby World Cup games.

So a very early start this morning for our 6:00 am flight to Dubrovnik. We flew with KLM and had a short layover of approximately 1 1/2 hours at AMS on the way to DBV. We arrived at the D gates and then had to go to the B gates for our departure flight. We then had to go through passport control and the line was enormous. By the time we got through and to the gate we basically had just enough time for a trip to the loo before boarding commenced. Coming in to Dubrovnik we experienced some pretty rough turbulence with the plane shaking quite badly and dropping a few times.

Today was a big day of walking with a walking tour in the morning around the old town, then a walk up the stairs for lunch at Lady Pi Pi, a walk up the hill to the cable car for a ride to Mount Srd, a walk to to the beach for a swim then a walk along the Walls of Dubrovnik. By this stage both my legs and wallet were hurting! The cost of doing touristy things is quite high with the cable car costing €27 return (about 5 mins each way) and the wall walk €35. Add on lunch and a few beers and not a cheap day but worth it.

View from the mountain.
