Havn't been able to see anything about this flight elsewhere.. Admittedly only a quick look last night & tonight...

On Tuesday 12/8/14 I can see UA 2106 SYD LAX departing at 1530. It looks to be almost empty from seat map. No F seats gone, only one in J, 2 in economy plus, & 9 in Y.

UA award seat opportunities only in Standard Award category.

So, this will be 3 UA flights out of SYD today. 2 to LAX, one to SFO. Tomorrow back to usual. Flight UA99 direct from MEL not due to start for a few weeks yet.

How often has this extra UA 2106 been operating?

Thanks for the flight number history.
They wouldn't sell award seats on a charter flight, would they? So yes, the most likely thing is a delay from a couple of days ago. I had also thought maybe with Northern summer holidays finishing, just an extra service to provide lots more seats this week.
