Hi all.

I have a classic domestic U class award today.

Can someone advise on my likely ability to change to an earlier flight (that mum is on) with J but not U seats available, when i arrive at the airport.

I know i cant do it over the phone without U class - just wondering the likelihood once i'm there.

Thanks
m

If you have checked baggage this must be sorted at checkin.

Pure (U) to (U) is fine.

Upgraded (U) at checkin needs them to pick up phone and ask which they don't like to do unless you push them

I just flew ISA - BNE - SYD, had a 6 hour layover in BNE due to lack of U availability on any earlier BNE to SYD flights. I asked at check-in at ISA and the lady didn't have to question or anything and changed the second flight to 5 hours earlier. I'd imagine it shouldn't be took much of a problem at check-in provided there is business availability left.

Edit:

Sorry just realised the date would of already pasted, How'd you go?

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I can't confirm unfortunately, mum's flight was oversold in J by the day of departure.

The checkin agent didn't seem to dismiss the request, although she may have preferred explaining oversold to fare rules as the reason.

AstroDamo's experience seems to indicate it will be possible.
