Hi A mate and I are attempting book a trip and if possible would love to use some points (if the right flights are available etc) however we have two separate FF accounts. The QF website says that we would need to book two different reward bookings. Although I assume some people on this forum have experience of being able to travel together on award bookings. Any suggestions appreciated Thanks

You can contact QF after the bookings are made to link them together so things like seating can be done / allocated together.

What status do you both have and are you related so you can transfer points and make one booking. If you go to make two separate rewards bookings you could be left in the position where there are no more seats available once the first seat is taken....

Is the booking for international or domestic?

Are you looking at return booking?

Can you book one leg for both of you and your mate book another for you both?

I did that years ago with a friend but that was a relatively simple return trip, could get tricky if you are aiming for multiple legs.

No status I book most of my flying as awards so status is not something that eventuates. International. Up for discussion as I'd quite happily turn the flights home into an odd trip to get an A350 flight.

That's a very good idea !! thanks

You will need to be related (by Qantas standards) to your friend to make an award booking for them (and vv).

As mentioned be careful as the person must be a family member to book award flights.

Book separate flights and get them linked would be the best way to go.
