Turkish business class - any good

Hi All.
I am considering some Business flights with Turkish airlines, from Asia to Europe, but looking at reviews, they are pretty concerning.
14K - 5 star
8k - 4 star
10k - 1 star review.
Are the bad reviews justified.
Do we think this is mainly comments from economy fliers and from people who don’t know any better ?
Or are they justified?
Appreciate any input? As the reviews have put us off booking with them as yet.

I wouldn't let reviews guide you too far.

Personally, I like them, especially within Europe where you get a proper business class seat, not Eurobusiness. Long haul they are 'pretty good' - I had good flights; the bed is good but the service wasn't quite as polished as, say Qatar . The food is very good.

They are often priced below, say QR (depends when you price them of course) and when its a fair bit below, its good value and I'd fly them over QR.

In the end, we boarded at 9:50 (A350-900) and I was amazed when we pushed back exactly in time, 10:25.

I’m in 4K, single with the seat nearer the window.

Amenity kit. Just the basics but the socks are fluffy




No PJs but I bought my own QR ones.

I filtered the reviews to 1 and 2 star only, and read through the first 7 pages.

The only thing that was justified IMO was that the call centre can be hard to contact. Which is fairly common across most airlines.

Most of the other complaints weren’t justified… they involved unrealistic passenger expectations.

We flew TK from DPS - IST - CDG return in June/July. We have booked TK for June and August next year just a few days ago.

From DPS to Europe they are very reasonable in price and around $1000 less than all the other usuals. Their flight timings were better. Do we prefer QR and EK? Yes. Did we enjoy the flights anyway? Yes. Were the flights good value? Yes.

Rooflyer has mentioned some of the issues and we had no issue with the service. But we aren't particularly demanding in service either. Meals were enjoyable. I ate all of one of my meals which for me is unusual as I dont tend to eat much on planes. Alcohol was I guess sparing but adequate. Transit in IST is a way of getting all your daily exercise needs . We had a total of four flights with them. Their Neo seating maps varied with each flight and the long leg 350 was excellent. All lay flat except for one three hour day flight from CDG to IST. We knew that when booking but flight times worked. IST lounge can be manic. But sometimes quickly empties. We don't bother with showers there. Excellent food served.

The amenity kit was fine, and their socks are excellent. The only ones we have ever bothered to keep and use.

Like most things in this world, if you have a good experience you mostly just go happily on your way. If you have a bad experience you feel aggrieved and leave a poor review. The numbers there are overly self selecting.

TK J is good. I’ve maintained Elite or Elite Plus with them for 10 years now.
