TT most on time again!

Tiger had the highest proportion of on-time departures among the major domestic carriers in October, at 84.7 per cent, with 82 per cent of its flights arriving on time and no cancellations.
But this came mainly as a result of a cut-down schedule after the budget airline was grounded by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) for six weeks mid-year.
Tiger flew 666 sectors in October, compared with 1587 a year before.

It equates to roughly 2 flights an hour dividing that 150 flights assuming 7 days a week, 12 hours a day...
Not exactly a big ask...

Beg to differ, look at the breakdown in routes, for instance TT and JJ had very similar sectors yet massive difference in OTP, 64% JQ 92% Tiger, very similar pattern for MEL-SYD.

.... and when you are doing that lower number of flights each one that is delayed is a much higher percentage of the total.

I think the fact that half their fleet is sitting idle most of the time is key to TT's OTP at the moment.

The fact they had zero cancellations is also a result of that!

You could say that TT is way over staffed \ over equiped for the number of flights it is permitted to do right now.
Considering the amount of excess resources they have available to them right now is it any wonder that they have good OTP...

LOL yeah they have been so off my radar, I forget they are even flying anymore. Having said that with all the scrutiny does it make them the safest airline to fly as well as most on time

I would probably give Tiger a go but they have done away with SYD-BNE since their return.
