Hello, I'm trying to transfer some expiring miles from KrisFlyer to Velocity. I have my Velocity member number linked in my KrisFlyer account and going Miles > How to Use > Virgin Australia - Velocity then the screen pops up to choose Airline partner but nothing appears in Partner Programme drop down list.

Does anyone else see Velocity there or is this a bug?

Thanks

I have a blank drop down box too. I’ve never done it before, so can’t shed any light sorry.

How did you each go with the transfer? I need to transfer 300k expiring points to VA and hoping no issues. Just don't know when I can book anything right now and safer to relocate the points than risk a booking which, if cancelled to rebook a different date, would mean total loss of points.

I had the same issue and I bought a minimum amount of points to give me an extra 6 months but finally this month I had no choice but to spend them in the shop. Having to do that was very annoying.
I have another 12 months until 150000 will expire and I will also transfer to velocity.

But something the customer service said made me think it doesn't work by doing that as I did ask. . I'm curious to know if that is successful for you so please post back here and let us know

Just completed the transfer which went very easily. I am having sticker shock though realising I cannot do well in the seat purchase stakes with Virgin points.
I had no choice but to transfer as recent health issues mean I cannot accurately predict any travel dates for a while. If I had booked regardless with SG then had to change the date, the points would have become worthless.

Can anyone recommend any Virgin travel routes that have good points conversion and availability? Happy for it to involve single fairs with return or onward using different rewards schemes (e.g. Kris, Alaskan etc) that I can transfer points into from Westpac or from Amex.

Don't forget that one can also book Virgin Flights as a Partner Award from Krisflyer too.
Per earlier discussion, points are now in VA...or do you mean for potential ongoing legs to transfer say Amex to Kris to make a Partner Award booking?
Am I right in thinking the points required to book a seat with VA are pretty abysmal?

I was mainly posting for benefit of all readers.

Some routes can be reasonably attractive.

ie My daughter just used some of her Krisflyer points to book some domestic Xmas flights on Virgin as a friend is coming in from overseas (she will meet then in Queensland) and to buy flights now on the days she wanted to travel was very expensive.

Would also be a good tactic on some flights.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Christmas and Cocos Islands. Great spots without tourists and very quirky. Paid flights are very expensive.
