Thanks Matt! I was about to book a multi city MEL-SYD-OOL but then checked the T&Cs to find that only one-way or return flights are eligible...

Just priced some random dates ex PER via MEL to OOL. Almost spilt my coffee! Over 1500 dollars each way in Biz. Priced it from MEL, much better but the status points are ridiculously low. Very cheap down the back but even with X3 points a handful of Status only. Unless you have a compelling reason to be on Gold Coast not worth the time or bother.

I ended up booking a direct flight last week for travel on Sunday (after noticing the fare had dropped due to an aircraft upgauge from 737-700 to 737-800) and triple points have posted tonight

I was cauhght out by this offer. I avtivated the offer and then booked a couple of return flights from SYD-OOL however the points have just landed and the triple ppoints are on on the base fare (points) . I couldn't figure out why I received 1810 points for the flight and 1811 for the bonus points. Pays to read the fine print.....
