Hello good folks of AFF.

I'm travelling to LA from Sydney in a few weeks with my wife and son in PE and put in for a J points upgrade for all of us.

I got all of us upgraded SYD-SCL with points last year but just assumed that was dumb luck, has anyone been lucky enough to get a triple upgrade on QF?

Anything's possible - I've recently had a friend with QF silver get a points upgrade Y->J for 3 pax on QF8. I've also had a 3 pax Y->J op-up on QF1.

Related question: any way to prioritise the upgrades, eg. SWMBO + kid first, and me last, so that if only 2 upgrade seats are available they get it and I stay in Y? Been traveling J for work so want them to experience it a bit. Would love my own upgrade but happy to let them have first go. Current status is SG.

Friend has had a points upgrade PE -> J, then on check in in ADL got OP UP to F for the SYD-LAX sector..

We had a good few drinks and a meal on the way over the Pacific

If you are on the same PNR then no, it's either none or all.

You would need to split the PNR if you want to have a chance at only 1 or 2 upgrades. The resultant downside of this is, only your PNR would be considered under your gold status.

I have had an upgrade for three of us (HKG-MEL) and it was an op-up which was even better.

Yes, points upgrades for all three of us from Y+ to J for MEL-LHR and then also LHR-MEL in Dec.

We've won the point lottery 4 x J > F QF11 (SYD-LAX) and 4 x Y - J on the old QF1 (SYD-SIN)

I have had the question asked about 2 years ago when SWMBO and I were doing SYD-LHR with QF phoning me and seeing if we were interested in only one upgrade.
