Hi all. Travelling with my family next month MEL-SYD and we are on separate bookings as my ticket is paid for by work. I am on Gold and have previously been able to link our bookings so my family can accompany me in rows <10. It was usually just a matter of using the chat service on the Qantas app however the agent allocated to me has just advised can link our bookings, but we won't be able to select seats for my family as those are reserved for Gold. Any suggestions?

Thanks. Been on hold for 40 mins -- first time I'm having trouble getting them to do this for me! 😄

Separate books can't be technically linked. When they get into the airport control time frame of - 80 hours the checkin system can 'link' the bookings there, but the bookings will still be separate. The only time where you can select seats 'together' is at the airport when you check-in. Can be done through the call centre but very time consuming process for all involved.
