Hi Samm
Mothers can be very troublesome if left to their own devices outside of our control or at least my mum was. But I have to say she survived every trip and generally had a ball, got help where she needed and was very well looked after by all those nice boys (probably 40+).
Suggest that you look at the Changi and Munich websites etc
Home - Changi Airport and the transit hotel
Ambassador Transit Hotel
Terminal maps can be good if they can read them. I don't know Munich its been a while but this is their site
Munich Airport - Passengers and Visitors
If she is on
Qantas, Singapore etc then she should be able
pre arrange assistance for her all the way through. Talk to the airlines and your travel agent, don't leave it to one of them. Pre arrange special meals if needed. Let he know how long the flights are and suggest sleep pattens. Make sure she has a mobile phone number for those meeting her at the end, she dosent need a phone but if in difficulties she can get someone to call. On the plane she will need a pen and address of people staying with for the arrivals card
Transits, the SIN transit hotel is great and do wake up call etc. Make sure she is going through security back to gate at least 60 minutes before departure but not more than 120 minutes as this is too long to wait.
They usually call for assistance travellers first so she should use this to get into her seat and comfortable before the crowds get on. Print off the movies for the flights or at least take her through the IFE demo's that are on some airline websites, make sure she has some books if she is a reader.
Most of all ASK for assistance, cabin call button is overhead (yellow orange), she is not bothering anyone that is why they are there, they love little old ladies (not suggesting anything) it reminds them of their mums. She might meet some nice boys and girls:!:
I'm sure she will have a great trip and holiday
