Travellers' kinky outfits outed online

And i was thinking by the title it was what people were wearing on the plane ! not what they happened to wear on the weekend... oh well i guess i have a dirty mind.

The airlines go to the all the trouble of finding the luggage and then expect the owner to claim it. If it was misplaced by the airline in the first place and the owner has reported it missing then how would the owner know it has been found to claim it?

Even if proceeds go to charity it does not sound right that someone else's possessions are sold to total strangers. I don't know about other people's luggage but in my luggage there is always something to identify me. Whether this be a prescription medication label, boarding pass, some travel itinerary, hotel receipt etc. If the airline has misplaced the luggage then they should make every effort to return it to it's rightful owner....

Sounds very fishy... I would think there would be all kinds of privacy concerns... + even if the luggage is missing an owner it still does not belong to the airline so they have no right to sell it...

I think that there are warehouses of unclaimed luggage that are cleared out periodically.

I technically think that the luggage might end up belonging to the insurer once they have paid out claims on the insured items (for those with insurance who made a claim of course) or potentially the airline if they also paid out on a claim...

Ahh that would make sense.. Although I would assume that the owner would still have the option of repaying the claim and being re-united with the luggage as there may be sensitive items contained within.

Does the last luggage look quite Aussie???

I know I would rather pay a fee and have my stuffs back. Sometimes you have things which cannot be replaced.
