Can anyone recommend a cheap but good travel insurance (ex Australia)? I'm covered by business insurance but need travel insurance for my partner and 10wk old daughter. They will travel from syd via hkg to europe (and back) - total 5 weeks. I find the Australian insurance policies so much more expensive than the ones you get in Europe - used to get 1 year worldwide cover for around 50aud! Thanks

mondial is really good, cheap and good things about them have been said on here - go into expedia and click 'travel insurance' tab along the top, and get a quote.

Many here including myself have used Travel Insurance Direct. I have posted a Discount code recently in a previous thread . I do suggest you Google "travel insurance direct discount code" and find one as it saves anywhere from 5 to 20%

great - went for travel insurance direct as they seemed to have slightly better coverage. Thanks

one more question - my partner is on temp 4yr working visa in Australia and for many insurances you need to be perm resident. Can she claim to be resident in home country (which is eu country and hence would make insurance cheaper)?
