Travelling with my 81 year old mother to Fiji in September. Finding it difficult to get travel insurance through my usual sources. Any recommendations for older travellers? TIA

Hiya, I've posted on this before. Something to look out for in your case is that some brands like 1Cover and Zoom have an excess of $2000 for medical claims for over 80s. Columbus Direct and InsureandGo are worth a look as they have an online medical screening form so you get an immediate answer as to whether they'll cover your mum/if there is an increase in the premium. Not sure if they have an increased excess though. It's probably worth getting a quote through a comparison site to get a sense of the price range.
Worth checking amounts because some will give fir 81 and up but there is a limit on medical say $40,000 and if you take sick overseas that is not enough I think. So best to pay higher and get unlimited, there are some out there
