Travel Insurance and "Do not travel" / Acts of War

No.

Ceasefires get broken all the time.
they do....
No.

‘War’ is not defined by a period or declaration (of war), it’s an actual event or happening.

So even if there was a ceasefire, a rogue drone attack would still be an act of war. insurance would not cover you.
understand what you are saying and must admit it was a "how long is a piece of string" question by me!! but assume at some point, be ceasefire, armistice, whatever "the war" is over or is that simply a decision the particular issuer will determine (subject to the courts).... IRA bombings in London when I was working there spring to my mind, yesteryears rogue drone equivalent!

It won’t ever cease because a single act, at any time, regardless of any official war, could be determined a hostility, war or terrorism.

Invalidating any direct instance claims arising out of that.

So Travel Insurance could be invalidated wherever there has been a previous war zone. That is a hell of a long piece of string!!!!

Even if it has *never* been a war zone.

Insurance policies refer to an act of war, whether declared or not.

so if there was an IRA bomb in London today, whether that was considered war or terrorism, no claim would be payable arising out of that.

But in reality, a simple event like that is unlikely to cause significant disruption.
