Hi everyone,

I'm a relative newcommer to FF but have been perusing the threads with interest!

I'm half way through my Cert III in Tourism and hope to finish up before the middle of the year. Hopefully then I'll be out looking for a job!

My interest is in joining a retail travel agency, probably one of the chains/francises. I've heard some not so good things about Flight Centre's turnover of staff, but I was thinking this might not be so bad if they're training is good?

Has anyone recently done their induction program/initial training? What's involved? How long does it take?

Anyway, thanks. Back to the books!

I'm a TA (self employed) who spent many years at FC in consulting and management, if you send me a PM, i'll be happy to chat further with you.

The first 3 years of my 20 year working life was with a 'not so professional' company. It was the most educational experience in my life.

The only thing to watch for is that you hold true to yourself. If your employer convinces you that "Black is white and white is black" you may get run over at the next Zebra crossing (stolen from somewhere).

'tis a Douglas Adams quote. :) The original is "Man then goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed at the next zebra crossing."

You should scan FC's website for their Open Days. I went to one when I still had thoughts about working in the industry, and it's actually rather informative.
