Hi All,
I searched the forum for a specific link to this product but found nothing. I have a Flite Gear travel adaptor with Dual USB sockets. It was purchased specifically on-board a Jetstar flight, but I am sure I have seen it for sale with several other airlines at least, and the AUS Frequent Flyer store seems to have the same in a different colour.

Its a great small unit, if a little bit fiddly to get to some of the sockets, but I like it as it has 2 USB sockets on it, where most of the others I have seen casually only have 1 socket. I did destroy 1 by using my GF hair dryer through it (the adaptor bit not the USB LOL)...but that was my own stupidity for not familiarising myself with the specs.....so the actual question! I am sure so far it is only in Hong Kong, but when using the USB sockets to charge my Samsung Galaxy Tab, my previous Samsung S2 and now my Motorola Android Razr, all 3 have charged fine, but do not respond to screen inputs...ie they do not operate while charging from this unit. This happens in both the airport and my hotel of choice. It works fine in Thailand in Bangkok airport and coughet hotel. My thoughts are that either the voltage is somewhat unusual in HKG or the frequency used is unusual. I don't see with my now outdated knowledge of electronics how converting a much higher AC voltage to a much lower DC voltage could have an effect like this. I have tried different (both original and non original) USB cables, that makes no difference.

Anyone out there with a similar effect, even with a different adaptor / USB or just USB charger?
