Previously I was using pages to make fancy itineraries in pdf format to share with family and friends, however it was very time consuming.
Looking for itinerary building software I stumbled upon TRAVEFY super easy to use, forward booking confirmations to you itinerary email for instant additon, customise days and events and even upload custom pics for hotels or whatever.

Check it out.

Had a quick look and it doesn't seem to allow me to forward itineraries to be automatically included like TripIt. Did I miss something?

it would be great to have an alternative to TripIt (or get them to add a "today" button).

thanks for the info

I had some trouble with it working with my AA award itinerary email, but for my hotel hire car and QF reservations it worked well.

I've always been a fan of the TripIt Itinerary. I forward a link to it to my parents and it 'just works'. And being dynamic, if anything changes, every time they visit the link it's as it should be.

As for a 'day view' I have the Cal feed from TripIt in my mobile and laptop calendars so I can always see what's going on pretty easily.

Having a quick look at travefy, it appears you need the 'Professional' membership to forward emails, and at $16-13PCM, it's substantially more expensive than TripIt Pro (and you don't need Pro to forward emails for TripIt).

The email address appears to change every time you create a new itinerary as well (I setup one and it had itinerary<randomchars>@travefy.com) rather than the '[email protected]' (and having inbound filters to match email addresses). The travefy way is more secure, but not having consistency is a killer for me. TripIt also allows auto gmail scraping of itineraries (if you're into that kinda thing).

A quick browse of travefy suggests that the Professional version is designed for travel planners/agents (at least the 'how to' guides suggest that and the option to specify 'your travel company' and upload a logo as well as 'Send to Clients' on the top of the itinerary).

It all seems a little confusing to me. I'm not sure why any regular travel planner would use this as just about all the GDS's have a 'pretty' itinerary these days (Tripcase/CMT etc).

Off topic, but thanks I think I now understand why my VA bookings show up in tripcase automatically.

It's been quietly implemented. My TA bookings do similarly. I know TripCase are pushing for more market, but TripIt got an early start. If only it had API's into the GDS directly (with your permission) to monitor the booking in real time (As opposed to simply monitoring the flights from more public sources). Any system that could do that would have my business as irrops and re-bookings would all be shown in real time without needing any manual intervention.

As I've now lost 2 JQ booking due to double ups, it may be time I started using one of these planner programs. Do they keep track of all your bookings (multiple airlines, hire cars, hotels etc)? Sorry for the newbie question....I'll go and do some reading, but given both the JQ bookings were $279, it'd pay for a "pro" version, I guess.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Probably start with TripIT I'd say, if you have hotels and such as well.
I like the My Flights app, but it doesn't do all bookings. Not sure about JQ.

I love stuff like this because I'm a planning nerd, but I can't seem to find a program/app/site/whatever that will allow me to input itinerary points during a day and map them for me. Taking another trip to NYC and I love being able to plan out days using a map, allowing me to see if an itinerary is doable.

Yes, total nerd, I know. Might have to stick to the old pen/paper/notebook.

I'm going to put in a +1 for tripit. The free version allows me to keep track of my airline / hotel / car hire bookings, and furthermore add things in by simply emailing tripit with my itinerary.
One of the things I love about tripit is that it has a phone app which will download and keep a copy of my travel plans on my phone, so if I'm somewhere with a dodgy internet connection I still have access to all my booking details.
