Transnusa adds Melbourne-Bali

Transnusa will launch flights from Melbourne to Bali on October 19.

Schedule:
8B18 DPS1950 - 0430+1DPS 320 D
8B19 MEL0530 - 0845DPS 320 D

Initially operates 4 times a week before increasing to daily flights in mid-November.

I realise this is prolly a good way for them to utilise aircraft overnight…. it they’re not great flight timings!

1950 departure from Bali… maybe… possibly… if you get ,ate checkout until 4pm.

But the flight TO Bali… can’t even check in to your hotel at that time, have to be at the airport to checkin at 330am, so up at 130am?

Madness! 🤣🤣

Can't see it being successful.

Wouldn't be my first choice, but hey, they're giving it a go....

A320 is pushing it for that flight length. I remember Citilink when they came to AVV didn't have etops and went a strange way I wonder if this mob are in the same boat. I'd stay well clear

Qantas and Virgin regularly fly 737s on the route… I’d have thought the a320 would have the same, if not greater range?

I think it's close but from memory JQ never flew the A320 regularly on MEL-DPS, it remained 787 until the A321LR's came into service.. They did out of ADL which is slightly closer... so there may be some reason for that. I see TransNusa runs 174 seats on A320's so not as packed as some.

Citilink had some kind of ETOPS issue on their very short lived Avalon service, I think they had to go on a route via Darwin or something to stay within their ETOPS rules. It's a distant memory now I think they lasted a few weeks in 2020 before COVID shut things down.
