I know interline on separate tickets is a hot mess....just hoping someone might have some first hand experience.

So first flight is CI58 MEL TPE landing at 0445.
Next flight is CX450 departing TPE at 1250.
Both awards, separate bookings though from QFF & QR avios.

Obviously I can clear immigration and custom and re-check my baggage etc...
Problem is apparently Cathay only let you check in 3 hours before in TPE, so I'm looking at a whole 4 hours wandering the departure hall of TPE?

Too early to go to Taipei city since nothing will be opened anyways.
Which is why I'm hoping I can through check. No sure if anyone has done it?

I referred to this link on my recent travels and interlining CI and QF - which worked fine.

Whilst not first hand experience, based on the information in the link - CX and CI should be fine.
