Transfer to Velocity 15-20% bonus promo - Nov/Dec 2025

Just got another email from AMEX for 20% Velocity transfers (not sure if Centurion exclusive?)

Get your 2026 holiday plans off to a flying start with 20% bonus Velocity Points when you transfer at least 2,000 Membership Rewards® points to Velocity by 2 March 2026.

To receive 20% bonus Velocity Points, the Primary American Express Australia Card Member must be enrolled in the American Express Membership Rewards Premium Ascent Membership Rewards Program;

20% is for Ascent Premium and 15% is for others (Ascent, Gateway, Business Ascent). A nice way to get a few extra miles into KrisFlyer via Velocity, versus the direct 3:1 conversion. 😉
agreed.. just wish VFF to KF had a bonus once in a while ;)

Just been told I won't receive 20% bonus points as I had opted in for auto-redemption before! But I thought as long as I was opted out on 31 Oct and opt in again in Nov I am eligible for the 20% bonus.Not happy!
I have a bunch of points that I want to redeem when the offer next comes up and have used auto-transfer before. So your post is worrying!

Question - which bank is your card with and can you find this requirement in the terms and conditions? I can’t find this rule anywhere online.

I’ve long held the view with bank offers to believe what I see, not what they say. There have been plenty of times when the implementation doesn’t match what’s written down.

In this case, as I said, despite the card type being identical we have different offers. That’s a fact, regardless of what the T&Cs say!

Since it's a Velocity offer, not an Amex offer, the only reason the bonus points percentage would vary between two cards of the same type is if one is older and grandfathered into Ascent Premium for some reason (as far as I know there are no such card types, but someone who's been in the Amex ecosystem longer may know of one). If one of you can transfer points to Qantas and the other can't, that may be the case.

More plausible by far is that one or the other of you has misread the offer email.

I get both emails and the difference between 15% and 20% is hard to miss (or misinterpret).

Though interestingly one email was from Amex and one from Velocity.

The Velocity email says "up to 20%" for everyone and buries the details in the fine print above (they don't send separate emails by Amex type). Amex can and does target the email by card type, so the offer is 15% for your card type.

This was in the terms of the Nov/Dec offer:

Velocity members already opted into auto-redemption or auto-sweep programs with ANZ Rewards, ANZ Business Rewards, NAB Rewards, St.George Amplify Rewards, BankSA Amplify Rewards and Bank of Melbourne Amplify Rewards as of 11.59pm AEST 31 October 2025 are not eligible to receive the bonus Velocity Points for Auto Transfers made under this offer. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with other bonus Points offers.
