I am interested to know if there is any restriction or means of getting Qantas Frequent Flyer Points over to the Starwood Preferred Guest Program (Sheraton). If it can be done, is it a 1:1 arrangment?

Ando Boy, as thadocta has already posted elsewhere, simple answer is no.

The only way you can get SPG award nights (if that's what you want the points over there for), is to book them through using your QFF points...probably a worse rate, but the only way I can see.

First spend on Amex and then move them to SPG and NOT to Qantas which most folks do.

I have over 300,000 SPG. A great plan.

Amex -> SPG

Is it 1000 Amex = 1000 Starwood? I couldn't find it on the Amex Membership Rewards page

Yes, 1:1 transfer.

And according to Starwood you can move your points into UA MP at the rate of 1000 points to 600 UA MP miles. If you're earning AMEX points at the rate of 1.5 points per $1 spent, that isn't too bad a price to pay in the absence of any direct one-to-one transfer schemes from the major credit card companies.

Actually I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has done the AMEX-STARWOOD-UA MP transfer process to know if it was hassle free.

Well I don't think so... this is from the AMEX (Australia) website:

1,000 Membership Rewards points equals 330 Starpoints

Then for the transfer to UA this is from the Starwood website:

United Airlines Mileage Plus 2:1

So the way I read it I can either transfer my 1,000 AMEX Points to QF as 1,000 points or to UA as 165 miles...

Somebody please tell me I'm wrong as I'd LOVE to be able to transfer my AMEX points to UA but not at the above ratio...

Sadly, I think you're correct....I misread the detail.

As some consolation, you can xfer to KrisFlyer or Thai at the rate of 2:1

My apologies if I'm incorrect.

I can't find that on the AMEX website.

I was sure I transferred at 1:1, but I may be wrong

Cheers
