I'm almost speechless. My sincere condolences and sympathy.

Makes the issues that our family has had with the fires pale into insignificance.

Words seem so inadequate at times like this. All I can do is add my sympathy for you, your wife and family garyjohn951.I humbly admit to shedding the odd tear even though we have never met.
Life can never be the same but I hope there will be better times ahead.

Having read all of the posts before me I can only say the same - my sympathies to you and your family, and it was a lovely tribute.

My heartfelt condolences to you and your family, garyjohn951.

The fact that such tragic loss has happened, not half a world away, or in another country, but 20kms down the road, is mind-numbing. I, like most of the country, am trying to help with the relief as much as possible, but I still can't comprehend it all, to be honest.

Proves that those little issues that can consume your day-to-day life mean absolutely nothing in comparison.

How awful. I am so terribly sorry to read about your personal tragedy in the midst of so much pain.

We lost a house, but it just doesn't seem important when I see the faces of such a young family.

Dear garyjohn951, my deepest sympathy. I cannot begin to comprehend the grief you must be feeling.

Although here in CBR it seems a long way away, I am a Melbournian at heart and know these areas well. In the 70s I played football (for Donnybrook) against Kinglake in the Panton Hill League. That this town is now essentially gone is something I find very hard to understand let alone the loss of life.

Dear Garyjohn951

I know words are not enough to express my sincere and deepest sympathy to you and your wife on the loss of your son, daughter in law and 3 grandchildren. May God comfort you and your family on this tragic loss.

garyjohn951, all I can do is add my condolences, though words seem wholly inadequate in these circumstances.

I thought hard about posting something, would I be adding a worthwhile comment. They will just be words from an unknown person.

While saying 'stay strong' is well intended, the pain will be more than you can bare. When it's time to let it out, just do it.

The people here are are quite well resourced (mentally I'm talking about) so just post away whenever you feel the need to reflect and talk about family.

garyjohn951, deepest sympathy for you, your wife and family at this time.

garyjohn951, my deepest thoughts are with you, your family and all the other families who have suffered in this catastrophic weekend. I also have family who have lost a home to the fires in Gippsland but I cannot compare that to the loss of life you have encountered. My sincerest apologies and condolences are with you.
