Tragic News
Dear All

I have some very distressing news, my son Adrian and his wife Mirribelle and 3 children, Eric [8] , Matthew [7] and Brielle [3] have lost their lives in the Kinglake bushfires. We are all struggling with this. At the moment we would like to grieve privately. Thank you.

It is at times like this when someone known to us (even if only via this forum) is affected that the true horror of these tragedies is brought home to us.

May I express my deepest sympathy and condolences garyjohn951 ...

I have split these posts out to a separate thread.

My thoguhts and prayers are with you also garyjohn951.

It is great to see the overwhelming support being shown by Australians in this time of need. I have been trying to donate through the Red Cross donations hotline for the past 2 days, and it has been engaged on all occassions I've tried. Hopefully this signals a huge influx of people trying to donate. Will keep trying.

Thank you all for your support in our trying times.

The Herald Sun in Melbourne has printed a lovely tribute to my son and his family.

Normally I do not have anytime for Newspapers and Journos but in the case I can say the young lady who dealt with youngest daughter, wrote WHAT we said and ensured we were happy with every word.

The Tribute we have given them is as follows

Adrian Brown and Mirrabelle Brown (nee Giuliano) met in creche whilst their respective parents were attending a square dancing event. In their teenage years their mutual love of square dancing saw love blossom. They were dedicated parents who would go out their way to help those around them.

Eric (8) and Matthew (7) were, of course, ardent Essendon supporters and looked forward to their weekly trip to the football with their Dad and Pa to watch their beloved Bombers. Both Eric and Matthew enjoyed their brief years at school and showed keen minds in their academic pursuits. Brielle (3) loved Maisy DVD's and made sure that they were played whenever she was at Nana and Pa's. Brielle was fiercely independent and had a knack of getting her own way, with both of her older brothers firmly wrapped around her little finger.

The Brown's were a close family who worked and played together, loved living in Bald Spur Road, Kinglake and were active members of their community. They will be sadly missed by all who knew them.
