Tourist visa for Indonesia

Noting the above answers.

I need to enter Indonesia, at CGK twice within 10 days, just staying overnight between flights.

Thought I'd apply for a multiple-entry visa D1 (convenience and not having to re-apply in a short time-frame), for 1 year, but note it needs an 'invitation' or letter from a sponsor. That probably rules it out for me, unless its like some other countries where a letter from a hotel will do? I note the additional cost.

Otherwise, I'll apply for two single entry B1 e-Visas.

Did someone ? @SYD recount a problem in applying for a second eVisa during the term of a first one, and not being able to apply for the second on-line?
Yes. That was us. I didn't try doing the second one until after we'd departed Bali first time. It may also have coincided with the implementation of their automated system. Their IT was down when we departed the first time and it may not have registered we'd departed. Going for the eVisa the next time it stated our current one (first one) was still valid. So couldn't do it. Got to Bali and had to front at the desk and it was processed manually.

We will be doing similar in June/July this year. Maybe you could try it for us 😁 Just checked and we have a 33 day gap so might be ok.

Or plan trips with > 30 days between transits (but within 45 days max TI coverage) - that’s what we’re doing again! 😀

Thanks. Yes, I'll give it a whirl! Fortunately, the fall-back is doing it actually on-arrival; a PITA but it'll work.

Too damn organised for us but we usually aren't away as long as but next June July is a humdinger. Bali being the bookends. And cheaper flights to Europe 🏆

Actually, VOA (while not as quick as straight thru the endless line of smart gates), is probably not too bad at CGK. I’ve never noticed any lines for the counter to pay the fee and usually not many peeps at the manual processing desks.

When you fronted at the desk, did you have to pay the 500,000 IDR visa fee again?

As a data point I’ve done the travel through CGK and EVOA twice within a 10 day period in the last 12 months.

So evoa to enter, 1 day in CGK then out final destination, applied for new evoa a couple days after leaving for my return through CGK and I could see my current valid visa, but was able to apply for a new one, received email and both showed in my account .

That's really helpful to know as I will be facing a similar scenario later in the month.

Great to know, thanks for that.
