Top Three Holiday Photos

Love this thread at a time of worry plus boredom, so I registered to add my own three. These are of China's Great wall at Badaling, taken in 2007. Sometimes it is the simplest of things, I love both of these photos taken by hubby. The flowers are my ipad screen saver and the dogs I have made into a canvas for the wall (drives our cat batty)

While I have hundreds of favourite holidays perhaps visiting family inthe Congo was the most exciting! Especially the10 minute flight on board an Ethiopian Dreamliner between Kinshasha in the DEC and Brazzaville in the Congo that barely rose above the mighty Congo River..

Last year my husband and I travelled to Georgia (the country). It was an astonishingly beatiful and fascinating place. Sadly, also still quite impoverished as well.

In keeping with your post @Drummer as we approach ANZAC Day:

866 Cpl R M Oates, 35 Battalion, died of wounds in Boulogne sur Mer, France, 25 February 1917

1923 Pvte C W Oates, 36th Battalion, missing in action on the night of 21 July 1917, believed killed. Thank to a very accurate map in the AWM we know the action he was involved in occurred on this farm near Quatre Rois, Belgium (with Messines Ridge in the background).

The memorial to C W Oates on the Menin Gate, Ypres, Belgium for soldiers with no known grave.

Lest we forget.
