TomCat's new digs!

No top sheet either so don’t waste money on sheet sets! The Target High thread count ones are pretty decent for spare sheets.

We love having guests, and have 4 spare bedrooms decked out. Our dinner parties are pretty epic so guests do need to sleep over.

Mind you, I won’t get up early on Sunday’s. Mr ALH offers a Full English breakfast and I stay out of it.
*splutters*

I can handle epic!

Can't find the colour I want in any store despite the website saying they have it in stock
Yeah Sheridan outlet can be good. I also dont mind Cotton House or David Jones brand sheets. The problem for me is I don't use a top sheet so the sets are a waste of money, I just need a fitted sheet and pillow covers.
Always use a top sheet. We have a light doona which we pull back each night and I think it has only been used as a cover 2 or 3 times since we bought it. We have a sheet and if it is cool, a mohair rug each. That's it. Our place stays pretty warm though.

We need to tee up a weekend; we have some free VA flights we need to use....

That’s the colour we used in our office. Good choice

Builder's standard and we figured we'd stick with it. Keep everything neutral and fresh.

One more tick box to go; just need to build permit which is expected 12/4:

New dining room is nearly finished. Table will arrive from NZ in 5 or 6 weeks!

You’ll need a break from dealing with your house. They say the process takes a year off your life.

......I’m living on borrowed time now

I know the sheet discussion is a little OT but with the temperatures hovering around the mid 20s last night in Adelaide you have to have a top sheet occasionally (which I discard as soon as it cools down). The trouble with buying sheets is it can be an expensive investment if you don't like the feel of them (but I'm sure the charity shop recipients are happy) Open to suggestions about other good quality sheets

Even when its hot I can do just fine without a top sheet; just pull the corner of the doona over my waist and I'm ready for a good nights sleep.

I have a silk duvet (rather, doona) and in summer it is nice and cool, and warm in winter. It’s only in the middle of winter that i throw a light blanket on top.

Realised today the concrete was likely dumped on our block cos we're the only ones with taps. So not only did they dump their waste illegally, they stole our water to do so  regretting not removing the handle off the tap, hopefully not too late this weekend to do so .

Agree with removing the handles before someone else takes them first. We had someone steal a fitting off the gas stove between buying and moving in to our first house (spec house in a new development). Think it was a builder of a neighbouring house.

This is actually one of my biggest worries in my current build once we start on the internals. Theft on Melbourne building sites is rife unfortunately. It is generally all at the builders risk and their insurance, but when you are getting some of the works done yourself there are some blurred lines.

Our accountant whose office was above a car park came to work and found they couldn’t use any washroom facilities as someone had stolen all the plumbing fittings from the basement. Lil ole Adelaide.

I'm not worried about losing the fitting, but the access to water makes us the prime dump site for all the concrete trucks who are too lazy to do the right thing. If they cant use the water to hose out the truck theyll go elsewhere.

You should be able to get that style of tap from Reece. Give your local store a call.

Reece would have taps with removeable handles. Lots of public institutions use them. There are various styles.
Other plumbing outlets should have these but I am less familiar with Melbourne plumbing suppliers.

Aha. Makes sense then. Actually, now I think about it, our apartment building has one for car washing. Collect key, hose, bucket, tap etc from the building manager.

At our Melbourne business premises we found next doors gardener was using our garden tap to water their garden. We fixed it with a style of tap that he would not be able to use. Problem solved on why our water use had risen. We checked everything inside and then realized nothing was leaking.
