Although a PITA at least you know now what it holding things up. Fingers crossed things get signed off soon.
Yeah at least it's not a problem with out section, just annoying that were being held up by the one before. January will be here before we know it.

You are lucky the services are done for you. I have just been hit with an unexpected $10-15k (highest quote was $40k!!) for a new sewer branch. You have to use the authority accredited contractors. Wasn’t found to be a problem till the drainer was on site with the excavators. More time and more $$$ before we even get going. Literally throwing money in to a hole in the ground, there is zero return on that but you have to have it!

Now its become clear that the problem is actually with the stage before ours. Ours has been signed off but council won't release them out of order, so until 14 gets fixed, 15 is held up :( It does mean though when 14 goes through, 15 will be issued immediately.
Nothing like a bit of pedantic Pooh bah from the Council.

I'd be pretty unimpressed if they were selling blocks of land with no services. Of course the services are done.

It is now such a long time ago when we built our first love nest. The contract was for a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom home for $22,410 on an 800 plus square metre block that cost $8,000 at an auction. There were some building delays so we never needed to borrow the amount of the loan approval and we were able to pay for the fit out out from our 2 incomes.I don’t think anyone thought building costs and blocks would change so much in value. That place is now a bit over a million if we wanted to buy it back as it is 2 streets from a lovely river and close to the city.

It looks like you are getting an extra 3 months to save with the title delays.
Only a month and a half. The initial date was November. Regardless, we already had more than 20% saved so it's kinda irrelevant. I'd just rather be in our own house rather than this temporary situation.

Yep! It’s one of the advantages of buying in a new estate, all the services are a given. If you buy rural or exisiting then the services are all the buyers problem!

Ours has told us to stay off it once they start

That would be enough to make me change builders! I photographed, in minute detail, all aspects of the construction. It's come in handy since then, as we know where every pipe, power line, noggin and frame is, with images from multiple angles.

When we built our house, I was on site every day, no problems at all with the builder and access, I also took photos, and we still get a Xmas card from the builder :D

Every contract is different though. TomCat have organised for someone independent to oversee the construction.

We can do that at arranged times while visiting the site with the supervisor. They just don't want us accessing the site at any other time as it is against ohs etc.

Had been planning to stock up on furniture during the Boxing day sales but the offers have been dismal! Freedom are actively not having a sale which is frustrating as they have the entertainment unit we want. The only thing I've managed to pick up is a rug half off.
