Reminds me, have to get chocs. We put lanterns, skeletons, webs up on the tree in front of our place but thats about it as our house is hidden by fence and hedge.

I dont like to be too scary as the kids are young and I dont want to upset them. Take the chocs and go - at least they know ini my street we have chocs (not many in my street participate).

Put the skeletons in open coffins in the garden beds  - that'll put some of the younger ones in fear of coming up to your front door and save you some $.

@TomVexille can probably knock them up with his eyes closed...

Ah. Patience Grasshopper comes to mind.
I'd noticed that poppies in a garden nearby were all in flower, and there were no buds to be seen on mine. So I pulled up two big clumps of plants (too many seeds in one spot). Left all the scattered ones, and came home to this beautiful flower this afternoon. Google tells me its likely to be a Peony Poppy because it looks like a Peony. I have a huge bag of seeds still, and I'll collect and label these ones, so at least next year I will know not to pull them out 😂

Peony poppies are magnificent.

Wow you grew them from seeds, well done! They are beautiful, and lots of more buds to enjoy!
Thanks 😊 hoping we don't miss them all while we're away. Going to be a cooler week which should slow them down. At least I'll be able to collect these seeds and label them based on colour for next year.

Did you plant the seeds directly in the ground? or in some potting mix in a container?
Where did you buy the dried bud?
We have been away overseas for 9 weeks, so much to do in the garden ugh!

I bought them from a florist. Just scattered them in the garden but in hindsight needed to mix them with some soil or sand before scattering. Ended up with big clumps (which I pulled out 😒).
