TomCat's new digs!

$48 vs $8 each, and that's wholesale
it is really hard when building - budget never seems to stretch far enough. You are probably already doing this, but concentrate on the things that can't be changed or are hard to change. E.g. Very ordinary taps can be replaced with designer ones when you have the spare money, but structural is much harder.

It was good to hear Tomcat has an electrician background. Sometimes I wish I was a plumber. We ended up putting in a water hammer arrestor to stop the shuddering banging noise from our washing machine. I didn't want to break a pipe somewhere in the home.

Would love to design a house. I'd be considering future proofing. As mentioned above, have a charging outlet for an electric car.
In Oslo, the beautiful new Opera House didn't provide a car charging place so they had an 'extension cord' running out of an open ground floor window plugged into a car. Lucky the window could open.

Will you have access to the block to put in a couple of trees at the back? It will give them a head start before you move in. Assuming you are planning the garden already! :D

I already have new fruit trees in big pots so they get a year's head start. Wouldnt risk planting them until the build is done in case they get damaged. And yes, I've pretty much got the whole garden planned out

1)Soft Close drawers and cupboards

2) If wiring up a house for Ethernet. I think these are neat:

Yep, soft close drawers in the kitchen.

Too late now for any other changes/additions, as all the selections have been done and signed off on.

How exciting. It's a real red letter day for you (and us who are following along :) :p)

It's all starting to come together. We should get our final pricing next week, contract later in the month. Land settlement in November then all going well, build should start in January.
