To simply cancel or change for a consolation prize? - Emirates F QF Award booking CDG-PER

Am at a loss with what to do with my upcoming Emirates F QF Award booking for 2 pax CDG-PER departing next week on the 12th March, given the terrible developments in Dubai and the Middle East.

Was hoping to be able to postpone the flights to January next year, but calling QF proved fruitless as expected with no availability (even as a WP, although understand this is out of QF's control to an extent and January being January).

It's incredibly disappointing that it seems my only option is to cancel this booking for a refund of points/fees. But was wondering what would anyone else here do, if you were in my shoes to take advantage and salvage some value out of this situation, given that this was booked before the devaluation in August last year? I don't want the 398,600 points back for redeeming at today's rates!

Is your concern flying in the current situation or has your flight been cancelled/changed?

If it was me, and the airline was flying the route, I'd take it. But perhaps my risk appetite is different from yours.

Flying via UAE whilst it is listed on the Do Not Travel list invalidates your travel insurance, recipe for disaster.

Sorry I should've added more context.

This was the return leg back to Australia as part of a short France trip, had managed to postpone our outbound QR J redemption flights to January next year, that we were originally booked to fly out a few days ago.

Travelling companion is very risk averse and wasn't that enthused about the whole trip in the first place, so doesn't want to fly at all given the Middle East escalation. Am very bummed about the situation.
