Just wondering if there are ways/tips to increase chances of winning the bid to upgrade to business from economy on flights. Apart from paying the max for the bid or using points.

So far on every economy flight, the ones I have placed the bid on, I am yet to be successful 😞 😂

Anyone can help with this query?

Thank you.

Status may be a factor on a tie. But with QF its all about the $$$$. Just simple money money money

To think about how other people bid, best off to go 2 spaces above minimum
Why ?
You are a higher bid than the minimum and higher than those who bid just above the minimum

However, know your ceiling limit

If you paid $240 for the ticket and J was available for $599 on the day you booked …. If close to the day of travel J may well be $800-$1200

So in order to still get a bargain, you’d need to stop bidding around $80-100 above minimum (say total cost of $320 compared to $599)

Otherwise you may as well booked J in the first place
