[h=1]Tiger Airways rebrands as Tigerair[/h] Low cost operator Tiger Airways has this morning unveiled a major rebranding of the airline as Tigerair.

The name change is part of a global rebranding by the airline’s Singaporean parent company Tiger Holdings and comes just days before it finalizes a joint venture with Virgin.
The move also follows last year’s grounding of the airline which saw the brand receive significant amounts of negative media attention after the Civil Asian Safety Authority declared it had “lost confidence” in the cost-cutting airline.
“Today’s news is much more than just a fresh coat of paint and a new logo – it is the start of the revival of our airline in Australia,” said Rob Sharp, CEO of Tigerair.

This should be interesting to watch. Could make another real competitor in Australia if TT can shake off its rather dubious past.

The logo.... From a distance you'd think the company was "Tiaerair", whatever that means. They might have considered making the whole 'g' orange, or give it a orange/black stripe motif.

But it's still got Tiger in the name.....

Hate the logo.

Quite like the Tiger stripes on the cowlings.

Still wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot barge pole (or a 10m aerobridge)!

Pretty timid and poor effort at rebranding, and about 12 months too late in my opinion. But good luck to them......

Really? Aren't they going into the Virgin stable, and therefore will have route coordination with VA.

So really, despite having 4 domestic airlines, we're really just going to have a duoploy again.
It'll be interesting to see what they change, that said, I doubt I'll ever step foot on a tiger plane regardless of the paintwork.

There will always be price-focused folk who simply purchase the lowest fare which if that happens to be Tigerair then they will continue to have a market.

Is this market big enough to keep an airline going? Time will tell...

Don't like the re branding either... The logo had me for a moment there too...
If this is another "Hit-and-Miss", then what...?

It must be rebranding week this week.

My Place of Employment started rebranding this week but no JQ uniform for me just yet.

I think the orange "u" shape formed by the bottom of the g in tiger is actually a subtle reminder to the pilots to stay "up" above minimal safe flying heights. The orange dot is a visual illustration of this. I think it's fantastic they are investing in getting the safety first message across to their pilots in this way.

I don't think the tail fits in with the fuselage... but I am glad to see some change for the better, at least on paper ;)

I don't mind re-branding par se, but re-branding should have a purpose.

Not sure that this re-branding has achieved anything. I fly Tiger occasionally, but I don't really see the difference/benefit between Tiger Airways and TigerAir.
