As a general rule, QF don't do matches, status has to be earned.

One poster on this board, but under unusual circumstances. That's the only case I've heard about, but I imagine it probably happens from time to time, for whatever reasons. But never AFAIK a 'public offering'.

Yes - QF do do it at a corporate level. Where a company wins a travel contract from Virgin, QF will offer the same Virgin status level to employees.
