Ticking all the Boxes in Noumea

Yes it's 10%, but as I understand it, it's now off the flexible rate (not the best available rate) in Australia, NZ and the Pacific (Fiji, New Caledonia and Samoa). I believe it's 20% off the flexible accommodation rate Asia.

This is the printout I got when I signed up in March this year and outlines the benefits. Not received any communication to changes to this so would expect 20% of BAR to stand.

I've just rechecked my "temporary" member welcome letter. It states "10% OFF BAR ROOM RATES" in Australia & Pacific.

This is contrary to what I was told over the phone. The lady definitely stated best flexible rate and I made a note of it.

I'll be happy if it's BAR & 20% as per your post.:)

We were heading for the Sheraton Deva Spa and Golf Resort, around 1h, 45m north of Tontouta airport, or 2h, 15m north of Noumea.

This place was a little difficult to find; we actually missed the turn off and had to backtrack a few km. If you arrive in the village of Bourail you have gone too far. Problem is there are no signs to the Sheraton along the highway as you might expect.

A couple of km before arriving in Bourail there are two bridges, the first longer than the second. Immediately at the northern end of the first, longer bridge you turn left. The sign says "Domaine de Deva", "La Roche Percee" and 'Poe'. About 15km along the road you veer right; again the sign states "Domaine de Deva".. A little further there is a sign to the Sheraton....

Welcome aboard. Unfortunately the meal service has ended and we have run out of Champagne. I'll check the economy cabin; there may be some Gossips Shiraz left.

Isshttt OK... - I shad a looong shlay-offfer cominkk in from PERfecshtion and I dranshk the SHYDD F loungshe dry and hadsh sthree S&P shquishds...:D:D

For us, dinner at the Sheraton consisted of bagguettes, wine, cheese and salami with @Fifa and Mr Fifa on the deck. A very pleasant evening.

I liked the ambiance of this place. Quiet and relaxing. I could have easily spent a few days here. In fact, I preferred it to Le Meridien on the Isle of Pines.

The one night's accommodation set us back XPF18,853 including tax. Breakfast here was superb.

A couple of more photos...

It certainly was an enjoyable evening eating and drinking out on your deck!

I'm sure breakfast was superb - rub it in Jacques;). As lowly Marriott Gold members we were left in our Bungalow to eat scraps!
Having said that we received the same (triple) upgrade to a Traditional Domain Bungalow as Jacques Vert:p. Oh and a bottle of wine and welcome card (where were yours @Jacques Vert?)!

One thing about the Marriott/SPG hotels on this trip is that they have been consistently inconsistent with their elite recognition.

You're forgetting they flew in a bottle of Champagne direct from Rheims on a charter flight, just for you know who!

Ooops.
I liked the ambiance of this place. Quiet and relaxing. I could have easily spent a few days here. In fact, I preferred it to Le Meridien on the Isle of Pines.

What did you prefer about it? What activities are there around the resort (other than lazing by the pool and I believe golf)?

Looked newer & better maintained.

It's hard to point to something specific; I just liked the overall ambiance of the place. The dining/bar area had a warm, inviting feel.

And at half the price of Le Meridien Isle of Pins, it seemed like good value.

Didn't look into activities as we were only there overnight. But there is a golf course although I didn't check the price for a round or if it is included.

Next day we were to head back to Nouméa (this is a mattress run, after all), but first we took a short detour to check out La Roche Percée:

There's a walk here that takes you to "the three bays". @Fifa and I went as far as the top of the first headland where we found Our Lady of the Tides:
