Have just found out from a certain large publicly listed travel agency that I booked some tickets to Japan with last week (on SQ) that they did not get the tickets issued in time to put them in the correct class (which earned miles). Instead they have ticketed them in a different class, at the same fare level - but in a class doesn't earn miles. They have offered a small amount of compensation - less than half I would consider the lost miles to be worth on face value (just based on miles for a Y redemption MEL-BKK), and that doesn't even count the contribution that the extra miles would have made to (1) Having enough points to make a redemption in the first place - would have tipped me across the line and (2) Star Alliance status.

..... updated problem solved, refused the compensation and they have reticketed us in a "earning" class.

dajop, well done for standing your ground and refusing (quite rightly) their meagre compensation. Their fault, they must come up with a suitable solution.

On the other side of the coin, I know somebody whose TA accidently booked an A class sector on a DONE4, so he got to fly in CX's renowned F class HKG/LAX and it posted on his FF account with F class SC's, points (including status and class bonuses).
